57) You could walk around Pioneer Square for years and never notice this tiny little post office on 1st Ave S at S Main Street. It would, however, be difficult to overlook this fine box stationed outside. I’m embarrassed, though, to admit that while posing for this shot, I didn’t even notice that funky gray lockbox stuck on the side. I have absolutely no idea what that is, but I wish I had given it a closer look.

Pioneer Square, S King St just off of 1st Ave S
31) This big Pioneer Square box on S King Street just off of 1st Ave S holds a special meaning for me. In the mid-90s I passed by this box almost daily, went through those doors in the background, traveled five stories straight up, and performed my workly duties at a great software company… one that alas, is no longer with us.
Downtown, 1st Ave between Marion and Madison
28) I’ve visited a few post offices in the course of this project, but let’s face it… this Federal Station downtown on 1st Ave between Marion and Madison has the grandest entry of them all. But even status such as this is not sufficient to keep their box free of graffiti.
International District, S King St and 7th Ave S
22) What a stroke of luck! We met some friends for dinner last night, and the restaurant turned out to be across the street from the only mailbox left in the International District! If you find yourself at S King Street and 7th Ave S, you can choose from quite a few places to eat after you’ve worked up an appetite doing your mailing.
