81) If you like to sing jaunty sea shanties while tending to your mailing activities, then you can’t go wrong visiting this Ballard box on Seaview Ave NW. There are marinas all around, and a boat store right behind it that is undoubtedly filled with rum-soaked old salts. Aaaarrr.

62) To be perfectly honest, I really don’t know what’s going on at Iman’s Deli-Market in Ballard. When I stopped by, the place was gutted but I couldn’t tell if it was being remodeled or if I was witnessing gentrification in action. I’m glad I visited it when I did, however, because I’m starting to realize that big construction projects result in mailboxes disappearing. Run — don’t walk! — to NW Market St at 28th Ave NW before this box is lost forever.

25) It was a fine sunny morning, the perfect time to enjoy a Tiny Diet Coke next to this box on NW 58th Street at 14th Ave NW in Ballard. Does anyone else remember when there used to be a mailbox on the median that runs down the middle of 14? One of my fondest mailing memories involved that box, and it’s sad to see that it’s no longer there.

16) Here we are at the corner of 32 Ave NW and NW 65 Street in Ballard, and what a lovely corner it is. It’s a bit chilly for anyone to be sitting outside in those nice red chairs, but they look great nonetheless.
