106) Bike Series 3/8. This must be an amazingly great location to send letters and packages to far-off destinations, because look at all the choices available. What was most surprising, however, is that while posing for this shot I found that the UPS and FedEX boxes were a bit rickety. Both of them teetered a bit when I put my hands on them. But that USPS box? Solid as a rock.

105) Bike Series 2/8. I ventured up to the most northern target on this adventure, a surprisingly clean mailbox outside a Ross store along Aurora. It was early in the morning, and a lone gentleman was hovering outside the doors waiting for the store to open. I thought it best to crouch down into a sneaky position.
North Green Lake, Fremont Ave N at N 95th
104) Bike Series 1/8. Guess what? It’s time for another exciting bike series! This morning I noticed that I only had a couple mailboxes left in the 98133 zip code, so I thought I’d take a quick spin up north to pick those up… but then I noticed I’d be passing several other boxes along the way. It was obvious what I needed to do — create an eight-part bike series! This box on Fremont Ave N was my first stop and it provided an excellent opportunity to get in a quick bit of stretching before pushing north. Tune in tomorrow to see where the journey takes me!
Meridian, Latona Ave NE at N 53rd St
103) Funny thing about this neighborhood — pretty much everyone will tell you that it’s part of Green Lake. But here’s a massive truth bomb for you… this area between the lake and I-5 south of 65th is actually called Meridian. And this is a proud Meridian mailbox, happy to serve its Meridian constituents.
Columbia City, S Alaska St at Rainier Ave S
102) Look at this big guy! It’s one of my favorite mailbox configurations, a massive double snorkeler! So far, I’ve only ever spotted these giants at post offices, and that’s exactly where this one is living. How many letters do you think can fit in one of these? Has anyone ever tested this? Anyone want to give it a go this weekend?
South Lake Union, Westlake Ave N at Republican St
101) Here we are, the first mailbox photo after the historic 100th posting from yesterday. I thought it best to take a moment to relax and relish in the success of this project, and this box in South Lake Union was happy to oblige. Yeah, the picture would have been more dramatic if the streetcar was rumbling by, but I really didn’t feel like waiting for it.
100th Mailbox Photo!
100) Today we celebrate a magnificent milestone: the 100th Mailboxes of Seattle post! I invited friends to come out to this lovely box in Madison Park to observe the occasion, and look at who all showed up! But listen, I know what’s going on… they were really here for Carol’s postcard cake. Location: Madison Park, E Madison Street at 42nd Ave E.
Sand Point, NE 65th St at 53rd Ave NE
99) I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking this is a rather bland photo of a bland guy standing next to a bland mailbox. And you’re completely right. There is absolutely nothing exciting about this photo. It wouldn’t even win a “Thanks for Trying” ribbon at the county fair. But there’s a reason for this. Did you notice that this is the 99th post? That means that tomorrow’s post is a rather big deal, so I deliberately put something dull here today to make tomorrow all the more exciting. Genius, pure genius.
Belltown, 2nd Ave at Battery St
98) There was so much to capture in this photo that I’m almost lost in the background. We have not one, but TWO green relay boxes trapping our scared blue box, and then a pair of scary lions standing guard across the sidewalk. I really didn’t feel like I had much to offer, so I just drifted to the back and hoped for the best.
U District, University Way NE at NE 55th St
97) See that apartment window above and to the right of my head? I’m pretty sure there were people in there watching me as I took this photo. Things like this don’t usually happen in the University District, so I guess they were just monitoring things to make sure I didn’t cause any trouble. You’d better believe I got out of there pronto.
